Music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman and a book by Mark O’Donnell and Thomas Meehan, based on the 1988 John Waters film. The songs include 1960s-style dance music and “downtown” rhythm and blues. In 1962 Baltimore teenager Tracy Turnblad’s dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight and meets a colorful array of characters. She then launches a campaign to integrate the show. Songs include “Good Morning Baltimore,” “Big Blonde & Beautiful” and “Can’t Stop the Beat.” Produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

The meatball cook-off with a twist! Your ticket is your first vote as you judge which chef has the best meatballs. More votes may be purchased for $1 each to stuff the voting box of your favorite sample. Admission also includes a flight of 3 signature Martinis, dancing in the moonlight, great food and more!

Based on the popular 1970s TV show, the first two performances will be an amateur talent contest with three “celebrity” judges who may gong any act they consider bad, eliminating them from the competition. Surviving acts will advance to the final performance on Sunday when a grand winner will be chosen. We may even have our own version of Gene, Gene the Dancing Machine.
