1989 Winners List

The King and I proved how to command respect when it accepted 9 Zenons while Mister Roberts and Sweet Charity tied for second place with 2 awards each at this year's Zenon Ceremony.

Rogers and Hammerstein's Siamese musical promenaded into first place with Thomas Heggen and Joshua Logan's nautical comedy and a Neil Simon musical tied for second place at the Fourth Annual Zenon Awards Ceremony, September 30, 1989. Frank Oberhausen's courtly musical commanded 9 Zenons while Janelou Buck's reprise of life on the high seas and Peter Pollard's musical comedy about a girl with a heart of gold earned 2 awards each.

Best Supporting Actess: Denise Blondin as Lady Thiang
Best Director: Frank Oberhausen
Best Costume Design: Leena Violette, Mary Guaraldi, and Liz Buell

Board Service Awards were presented to:

Margaret Donahue: Outstanding contribution to the theater as a volunteer in Gourmet Salad Bar preparation and for Special Events.
Emmie Hayes: Outstanding contribution to the theater through her work in Box Office management and operations.
Grace Sagona: Outstanding service to the theatre in Gourmet, Building Maintenance, Patrons Committee, and Special Events.
Larry Wollangk: Outstanding contributions to the theater in Gourmet, Building Improvements, and Building Maintenance.

A P/T Discretionary Award was presented to:

Jessica Lewia: Outstanding achievement in technical lighting operation for the season.
Larry Wollangk: Outstanding achievement in set construction for the season.

The 4th Janelou Buck Significant Achievement Award was presented to Judy Sutter for her long and outstanding contributions to the theater
