1989 Winners List
The King and I proved how to command respect when it accepted 9 Zenons while Mister Roberts and Sweet Charity tied for second place with 2 awards each at this year's Zenon Ceremony.
Rogers and Hammerstein's Siamese musical promenaded into first place with Thomas Heggen and Joshua Logan's nautical comedy and a Neil Simon musical tied for second place at the Fourth Annual Zenon Awards Ceremony, September 30, 1989. Frank Oberhausen's courtly musical commanded 9 Zenons while Janelou Buck's reprise of life on the high seas and Peter Pollard's musical comedy about a girl with a heart of gold earned 2 awards each.
