1990 Winners List

My Fair Lady proved how presentable she was as she curtsied on accepting 6 Zenons and On Golden Pond shimmered in splendor as it received 4 awards at this year's Zenon Ceremony.

A great Lerner and Loewe musical strolled elegantly into first place and Ernest Thompson's comedy about an older couple's summer in the woods hiked into second at the Fifth Annual Zenon Awards Ceremony, October 6, 1990. Frank Oberhausen's Pygmalionesque musical came to life and took 6 Zenons while Peter Pollard's comedy proved to be twenty-four caret material and worthy of 4 shining awards.

My Fair Lady's 6 Zenons included:

• Best Actress: Beverly Padgett as Eliza Doolittle
• Best Producer: Tena Conyer
• Best Stage Manager: Janet Waldron
• Best Music Director, Choreographer, and accompaniment: Carol Thurow
• Best Costume Design: Leena Violette, Liz Buell, and Virginia Guercia
• Best Lighting Design: Frank Oberhausen

On Golden Pond's 4 Zenons included:

• Best Actor: David Eakin as Norman Thayer, Jr.
• Best Director: Peter Pollard
• Best Set Design: Richard Arabinko, Bruce Klein, Peter Pollard, Harold Thomsen
• Best Play: Peter Pollard

Don't Drink The Water's 2 Zenons included:

• Best Supporting Actor: Jim Lanier as Chef
• Best Supporting Actress: Peg Markowitz as Marion Hollander

Hello Dolly's 2 Zenons included:

• Best Choreography: Carol Gose
• Best Vocal Direction: Jim Lanier

Board Service Awards were presented to:

• Betty Adler: Outstanding contributions to the theater as a volunteer in Gourmet and the Box Office.
• Darlene Glaum: Outstanding contributions to the theater through her work in Anthony's Lounge.
• Grace Sagona: Outstanding contributions to the theater for doing everything that no one else wants to do, but which needs to be done, and doing it with grace and charm.
• Lee Winberry: Outstanding contributions to the theater for planning and development of building improvements relating to the cultural facilities grant application.

A P/T Discretionary Award was presented to:

• Grace Sagona: Outstanding achievement in property management for the 1989/90 season.

The 5th Janelou Buck Significant Achievement Award was presented to Jim McCollum for his outstanding contributions to the theater
