1991 Winners List

Little Shop of Horrors screamed with success when it swallowed up 7 Zenons while The Music Man played a jubilant tune as it received 5 awards at this year's Zenon Ceremony.

A former "B" movie crept into first place and Meredith Wilson's musical about a clever con man conspired to take second place at the Sixth Annual Zenon Awards Ceremony, October 5, 1991. Tena Conyer's Downtown musical budded into prime territory with 7 Zenons while Frank Oberhausen's Iowan musical had something to toot about as it paraded into second place with 5 pulsating awards.

Little Shop of Horrors' 7 Zenons included:

• Best Supporting Actors: Scott Featheringill and Jim Lanier as Audrey II
• Best Director: Tena Conyer
• Best Production Assistant: Margie Pollard
• Best Set Design: Frank Oberhausen
• Best Assistant Director: Jim Lanier
• Best Lighting Design: Frank Oberhausen
• Best Play: Tena Conyer

The Music Man's 5 Zenons included:

• Best Actress: Beverly Padgett as Marian Paroo
• Best Producer: Margie Pollard
• Best Stage Manager: Janet Waldron
• Best Music Director and Choreographer: Carol Thurow
• Best Choral Director: Jim Lanier

Oklahoma's 3 Zenons included:

• Best Supporting Actress: Beverly Brando Gillilan as Aunt Eller
• Best Costume Design: Leena Violette and Mary Guaraldi
• Best Music Director: Jim Lanier

The Seven Year's Itch's 1 Zenon:

• Best Actor: Peter Pollard as Richard

Board Service Awards were presented to:

• Betty Adler: Outstanding contributions to the theater in the construction of the new wardrobe room, set construction during the season, Gourmet and the Box Office.
• Darrel Smith and Candy Smith: Outstanding contributions to the theater through their donations of time, talent and funds, resulting in superb cast and program photographs, specialty photography and portraits.
• Leena Violette: Outstanding contributions to the theater on the Gourmet and Production committees.
• Larry Wollangk: Outstanding contributions to the theater through his work with Building Improvements, Gourmet, and Building Maintenance.

A P/T Discretionary Award was presented to:

• Larry Wollangk: Outstanding achievement in set and prop construction during the 1990/91 season

The 6th Janelou Buck Significant Achievement Award was presented to Peter Pollard for his multiple contributions to the theater
