1996 Winners List

Fiddler on the Roof rules the roost with most of the Zenons while The Foreigner comes in second with a bantam share at this year's Awards Ceremony.

A Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick's record breaking musical came in first and an off-Broadway winning comedy modestly claimed second place at the Eleventh Annual Zenon Awards Ceremony, October 5, 1996. Frank Oberhausen's reprise of the famous Broadway musical Fiddler on the Roof dominated the Ceremony collecting 10 Zenons while Roy Riedy's off-Broadway comedy appreciatively claimed 3.

Fiddler on the Roof's 10 Zenons included:

• Best Play: Frank C. Oberhausen
• Best Actor: Larry Wollangk as Tevye
• Best Actress: Beverly Padgett as Golde
• Best Director: Frank C. Oberhausen
• Best Set Design: Frank C. Oberhausen, Bob Given, Larry Wollangk, Gordy Mattson
• Best Stage Manager: Janet Waldron
• Best Producers: Barbara Holt and Margie Pollard
• Best Lighting Design: Frank C. Oberhausen and Barbara Holt
• Best Costume Design: Helen Curcio
• Best Sound Design: Thor Knutson

The Foreigner's 3 Zenons included:

• Best Supporting Actor: Gordy Mattson as "Froggy" LeSueur
• Best Supporting Actress: Beverly Brando Gillilan as Betty Meeks
• Best Sound Design: Thor Knutson

The Secret Garden's 2 Zenons included:

• Best Music: Lois Prettyman
• Best Sound Design: Thor Knutson

The Goodbye Girl's 1 Zenon

• Best Assistant Director: Tammie Pollard

Board Service Awards were presented to:

• John Conway for Building Maintenance chairman, new building, Anthony's Lounge and Gourmet
• Olivia Byron Scott and David Scott for Anthony's Lounge
• Joyce Uebelhart for Gourmet, Building Maintenance
• Jay Zeltzer for Box Office and Computer Programming

The P/T Discretionary Award was presented to:

• Lois Brown for Makeup for the Season

The 11th Janelou Buck Significant Achievement Award was presented to Margie Pollard for her manifold contributions to Highlands Little Theatre

A Special Zenon was awarded to Peter Pollard for a decade's work of Zenon productions
