Annie collects most Zenons, while Paint Your Wagon and Rumors tie for second place in this year's Awards Ceremonies

A comic book musical was the big winner and a Neil Simon comedy and a Lerner and Loewe musical tied for second honors at the Thirteenth Annual Zenon Awards Ceremony, October 3, 1998. Frank Oberhausen's revival of the hit musical Annie claimed 7 Zenons while Tammie Pollard's Rumors and Beverly Brando Gillilan's Paint Your Wagon gathered 3 each.

Annie's's 7 Zenons included:

• Best Play: Frank Oberhausen
• Best Actor: Peter Pollard as Lenny Ganz
• Best Actress: Brooke Blackman as Annie
• Best Supporting Actor: Mike Logsdon as Ernie Cusak
• Best Supporting Actress: Marcia Ward as Miss Hannigan
• Best Director: Frank Oberhausen
• Best Lighting Design: Frank Oberhausen
• Best Producer: Janet Waldron
• Best Music Director/Accompanist/ Choreographer: Carol Thurow

Paint Your Wagon's's 3 Zenons included:

• Best Costume Design: Helen Curcio and Barbara Sylvester
• Best Set Design: Gordy Mattson
• Best Music and Choral Director: Carl Gillilan

Rumors's 3 Zenons included:

• Best Actor in a Leading Role: Pete Pollard
• Best Actor in a Supporting Role: Mike Logsdon
• Best Sound Design: Arthur Brand
